MICRODERMABRASION- MEGAPEEL™

FACIAL SKIN REJUVENATION |

We provide you with a medically
supervised skin care program incorporating quality skin care products and microdermabrasion treatments using the MegaPeel. Proper daily use of the
skin care products combined with weekly MegaPeel treatments will provide
improved skin tone and texture, giving you a more youthful and radiant
appearance.
The MegaPeel is a microdermabrasion
device that has been widely used as a cosmetic tool in Europe for over 10
years, and has been popular in the United States since 1996. It precisely removes
dead skin cells, layer by layer, until fresh new cells appear.
Traditional chemical peels are
performed in a doctor’s office using carrying strengths of glycolic acid or
tricloracetic acid (TCA) to remove the top layers of skin. After chemical
peels, the patient typically feels some pain and experiences redness and
scabbing over the treated area.
NATURAL EXFOLIATION . . . AND EXFOLIATING NATURALLY
|
ACNE |

|
BEFORE |

Younger skin naturally exfoliates every
15-20 days.
Shedding the dead skin cells allows fresh,
plump, new cells to appear on healthy skin. Aging, environment,
nutrition and
even cosmetics inhibit natural exfoliation. As a result, the dead skin
cells remain on our skin causing a dull, aged appearance.
MegaPeel treatments assist the exfoliation process by manually removing the dead cells on the surface of
the skin and allowing new cells to appear, resulting in a smoother, younger,
fresher appearance of the skin.
IMMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM RESULTS
Initially, you will notice smoother
skin with MegaPeel treatments. However, the program is specifically
designed for you to achieve long term results through the use of daily skin
care products. Depending on the initial condition of your skin, full
results usually occur within 2 to 6 months.

More aggressive treatments can even
help the following:
Deeper wrinkles
Deeper scarring
Deeper pigmentation
The MegaPeel Program has two phases:
Through a series of in-office
MegaPeel treatments, we will enhance your skin’s exfoliation process.
In addition to the office treatments,
we will provide you with a home skin-care regime specifically designed for
your skin type and special needs.
OUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
We tailor each treatment to your
personal needs. Using lower settings and fewer scans, we can provide a
gentle MegaPeel treatment, resulting in moderate exfoliation and little to
no skin irritation. For a more aggressive peel, we increase the
setting, time, and peel abrasiveness. The more aggressive treatment
will yield more dramatic results, but may cause increased redness and mild
irritation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is microdermabrasion and the MegaPeel?
MegaPeel microdermabrasion is
the most state-of-the art rejuvenation and resurfacing procedure to
exfoliate the skin. Microdermabrasion utilizes aluminum oxide
crystals (corundum powder) to evenly resurface superficial layers of skin.
Microdermabrasion stimulates circulation and promotes fresh, renewed cells.
It vacuums away debris and impurities that clog pores and allows better
product penetration. It is painless and safe. The MegaPeel can
be controlled and customized to meet each patient’s skin care needs.
When a more aggressive treatment is necessary, vacuum pressure can be
increased to penetrate even deeper layers of the skin.
2. How can the MegaPeel program improve the
skin?
A series of MegaPeels can
improve the superficial scarring, fine lines, moderate wrinkles, acne,
pigmentation problems including sun damage and uneven tones, as well as
dull, lifeless skin. Improvements will be noticed after the third
treatment.
More aggressive treatments can
even help deeper wrinkles, deeper scarring, and deeper pigmentation.
All skin colors and parts of the body, including chest, hands, back and
shoulders can be treated.
3. What is the MegaPeel program?
The MegaPeel program is a series of six (6) microdermabrasion treatments
performed every 7-14 days. The entire procedure takes approximately 45
minutes and concludes with a mini massaging and smoothing facial. This
regimen is recommended in order to achieve the maximum benefits.
Performed within this specified time frame, MegaPeel effectively stimulates
both collagen and elastin production in deeper tissue. This results in
a tightening of the skin and long-lasting results. Some individuals
may require up to 10 treatments depending on the condition of their skin.
Maintenance peels are recommended every 8-12 weeks after completing the
initial MegaPeel program. To receive the maximum benefits with
long-term effects, we will recommend a home skin-care regime designed for
your skin type. The use of daily sunscreen is essential while
undergoing microdermabrasion. Specific recommendation can be made for
you in the office. With the use of the MegaPeel in conjunction with
daily skin care products, full results usually occur within two to six
months.
4. What does microdermabrasion feel like?
Microdermabrasion feels like a mild scratching sensation, similar to a cat's
tongue on the skin.
5. What type of skin reactions should I
expect from the microdermabrasion?
You may experience temporary
redness, irritation, or flaking of the skin. The redness can last from
one half hour up to one day. Do not use any topical products for 24-48
hours. This especially pertains to alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy,
glycolics, topical vitamin C, Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide and topical acne
medications.
6. Who should NOT have
microdermabrasion?
Patients who are pregnant or
those who have taken Accutane within one year are not candidates for
microdermabrasion. Those who have open lesions, active cold sores, acute
facial dermatitis, or irritation should not have microdermabrasion until
these conditions are resolved. Patients who have had a phenol peel or other
deep peels within the past two years should postpone microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is not advised for pre-pubescent children.
7. How does
microdermabrasion differ from chemical peels and laser resurfacing?
Chemical peels are preformed
using varying strengths of glycolic, salicylic, or trichloracetic acid to
remove the top layers of skin. After chemical peels, the patient can
experience redness and possibly some discomfort and scabbing (depending on
strength). Laser treatments remove multiple skin layers and it may be
necessary to recover at home for one week. Microdermabrasion is painless
and requires little to no healing time. There is no “down time.”
8. What is the cost of
microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is $170 for
each treatment. However, we offer a special savings package. With the
prepaid purchase of a five-peel package, we offer the sixth
microdermabrasion free at a saving of $170. Special discounts will be
offered to patients for maintenance sessions.
